SWGI's Top Quality Care

2015 ADR
Adenoma Detection Rate (ADR) is currently the most important "quality metric" for Gastrointestinal Endoscopists. It reflects the percentage of colonoscopies done for routine cancer screening that have a finding of an adenomatous polyp (precancerous polyp). The benchmark or standard of care for ADR is 20% in female patients and 30% in male patients. Anything at this level or above is considered an appropriate quality of care, i.e. a good sensitivity in finding important polyps. That SWGI physicians have an average ADR of nearly 50% clearly indicates that the physicians are all committed to taking their time during colonoscopy, meticulously searching throughout the entire colon for polyps, using state of the art high definition scopes to detect small polyps, and actively trying to have colons thoroughly cleansed during the prepping process. The team at SWGI Specialists and the Southwestern Endoscopy Center are proud to share this excellent quality data with our local community.

SWGI specialists would like to bring the following new treatments to your attention. If you know someone who is suffering from either of these conditions, have them call Southwestern Gastrointestinal Specialists to schedule an appointment. There is no need for them to suffer the discomfort.

SWGI new treatments:

CRH O'Regan Banding for Internal Hemorrhoids
The CRH O'Regan system is a non-invasive, painless alternative to hemorrhoid surgery that can be performed in a doctor's office. It is quick, requires no anesthesia, no preparation and offers most patients rapid relief. It has been proven safe and effective.

Esophageal Motility & Impedence Testing
Esophageal motility & impedence testing is used to evaluate patients who have difficulty with the normal function of the esophagus. This includes those patients who have difficulty swallowing, non-cardiac chest pain and medication refractory acid reflux.
